Tryouts and the commitment of a full boy’s soccer season start Monday, August 9th (for details about registering for tryouts, please click here). Before we start the grind, let’s have a fun week of team building and bonding! Team week is completely voluntary, but also completely fun!
Anyone enrolled at Kennedy High School for the 2021/2022 school year who is intending to play boy’s soccer is welcome to join us. Please be early for all events. Anyone who arrives late will not be allowed to participate in that day’s event. The schedule for Kennedy Boy’s Soccer team week 2021 is below:
Monday, August 2nd, 3pm-5pm: Soccer Tennis
We will meet at the track around the turf field to run a mile and gauge our fitness levels. After that, we will play soccer tennis on the adjacent tennis courts until 5pm. Show off your ball skills, and learn a fun twist on the game we love. (Shin guards are not required, but please bring lots of water).
Tuesday, August 3rd, 8am – Noon: Hike the Incline in Manitou Springs
We are taking a road trip! We will leave in the activity bus from the parking lot adjacent to the turf soccer field at 8am for a trip to The Incline (click here for details) in Manitou Springs. Bring comfortable hiking gear, lots of water and a snack. We should arrive back at Kennedy around noon (no shin guards, please). Did I mention, please bring lots of water?
Wednesday, August 4th, 3pm-5pm: 3v3 Soccer Tournament
This one needs little explanation. We will divide into teams and play 3v3 soccer on the turf. You can bring pick your own teammates, or the coaches will help you find a group to play with. Bring lots of water, and shin guards are required!
Thursday, August 5th, 3pm – 6pm: Soccer Golf
We will depart in the activity bus from the parking lot adjacent to the turf field for a road trip to Washington Park where we will play soccer golf. Bring a water bottle and cleats. No shin guards for this one.
Friday, August 6th, 8am – 11am: Sand Soccer at Chatfield Resevoir
To finish Team Week, we will leave on the activity bus from the parking lot adjacent to the turf field at 8am. We will play sand soccer, and maybe jump in the water to cool down. Bring a water bottle, a bathing suit if you’d like, and running shoes (no shin guards required).
